Haryana International Film Festival Announces ‘Sudhanshu Sharma’ as the Best Director for ‘Kalichaat’















Kalichaat’ – An epic creation by a proficient director Mr. Sudhanshu Sharma is based on the never-ending struggle of an Indian farmer. The film is inspired by a novel written by Dr. Sunil Chaturvedi, sharing the same title ‘Kalichaat’. The gist of the film is how a poor farmer endeavors day and night in the quest of better life. The protagonists of the film have been taken from the same region so as to depict the whole scenario realistically.

With the genuine efforts of director and the whole cast to portray the real scenario, ‘Kalichaat’ has touched millions of hearts. The basket of success of ‘Kalichaat’ not only includes the national but international recognition. The film has won many accolades including Award of Recognition in Indie Fest Film Awards USA and official selection in the Indigo Moon Film Festival. Recently, the director of the film, Mr. Sudhanshu Sharma has been awarded as the ‘best director’ for ‘Kalichaat’ at Haryana International Film Festival (HIFF). HIFF is one of the biggest academic and glamour film festivals in Haryana that showcase best Hindi as well as English films from all over the world.

‘Kalichaat’ is also inspired by an NGO ‘Vibhavari’ in dewas district, that works on water crisis and landless farmers. Making of the movie ‘Kalichaat’ was also aimed to address one of the major issues ‘water crisis’ prevalent in the Malwa region. Above all, the screenplay and representation of the complete film is commendable. It will absolutely compel you to think as an individual, as a society and as a nation on the deep-rooted problems faced by the poor farmers who continually struggle in the pursuit of better life.
